My name is Vinnie and you might have been sent this link by a friend, or we already had a conversation about music lessons for yourself or your kids. On this page you can find out more about my philosophy, background, qualifications and some other information regarding my teaching style.

What I teach

Guitar (rock, pop, classical), Ukulele, piano for beginners, general musicianship, music theory, clarinet.

My Philosophy

Besides my work as a touring musician, composer, producer, cross-media artist and social activist, teaching has always been important to me. I have been teaching hundreds of people for 15 years now. My students are very diverse  from different socio-economic backgrounds ranging from 8-90 years old. Teaching allows me to make a more predictable, sustainable living as a musician and supports me in realising my creative ideas and different arts project. I love to share my passion for music and passing it on to people. I learn as much from my students as they can learn from me. I see my teaching as a mutual exchange of ideas and wisdom. I just happen to engage with music for a longer time. Getting to know my students and seeing them grow influences all my artistic output and I’m grateful for that.

My Methodology

In the past 15 years I developed my very own methodology of teaching and it is still evolving and being refined every single lesson. I call my method the ‘host approach’: I see myself as a host of a dinner party. I set the scene, look after everyone, create a safe and fun environment for my guests so that they can get to know each other in their very own way. One of the guests is music (and an instrument) and the other one is you. You might know each other vaguely but you are still unsure who this person (music) is. You might be a bit scared of each other because no-one has introduced you properly yet. You might be suspicious but deep inside you know clearly that you want to find out more about each other.

I’ll help you to find things to talk about if you get los. I help you to get to know each other.

I’m not a big fan of learning about music just to improve your CV. Having music in your life should be If someone wants to do grades it definitely is…

I have a limited amount of spaces available due to my other commitments. I want people from all backgrounds and walks of life to be able to get music lessons if they want to. If you can afford to pay more for lessons you will enable someone else to get lessons who wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise. I also offer two places for free if I have enough other paying students. I strongly believe that this is a sound model. Please choose accordingly:

Band 1 – your yearly earnings are 20k

Band 2 – your yearly earnings are 30k

Band 3 – your yearly earnings are 50k

Band 3 – your yearly earnings are 50k

I’m a registered music teacher with the Incorporated Society of Musicians, have degrees in music education as well as music composition from prestigious institutions Mozarteum Salzburg and Trinity Laban London.
