“Completely in the now, in the moment trying to push the boundaries of what’s possible and what can be done.“
(Tom Robinson, BBC6 Music)

“Oddly infectious, the sheer alien nature of the sound is allied to a whimsical pop touch that truly gets under the skin.”
(Robin Murray – Clash Magazine)

“Like most of the great modern music, Austrian Stergin’s  compositions defy genre brackets, combining elements of electronics, blues, classical and rock music.  Stergin’s live set was easily the most fun performance of MENT 2017.”
(God Is In The TV)

Point Of View

In this new, very fresh project, multi-instrumentalist Stergin explores the sonic world of the clarinet, especially his bass clarinet, combined with the use of electronics and synthesiser.

The goal of each performance is to totally immerse the audience in a minimal, ethereal, ambient, decelerating live experience.

Grown out of his 3 year job inside HMP Isis as part of InHouse Records, the world’s first music label operating in and out of prisons, and his work with young offenders within the justice system, he saw that bringing joy and comfort to people is as important as activism and raising awareness.

People are afraid and lonely, the current turmoil in our world creates so much anxiety. But for people to function and create a positive impact in society they also need comfort and joy. Now more than ever. It’s this small act of joy peace of mind in my live performance that I want my audience to experience. After 3 years at HMP ISIS I just felt so exhausted and needed to focus on calming my own mind.” says Stergin.

Each performance is played across a backdrop of a different point of view walkthrough of someone. That can be a slow walkthrough the Icelandic wilderness to a night walk through narrow allies in Tokyo.

Currently he is working with drummer Adam Betts “One of the most exciting drummers in the UK” – The Independent (worked with Goldie, Squarepusher, Heritage Orchestra, Jarvis Cocker) to further develop the live set.

First performances are planned in spring/summer of 2023 (tbc).
