“Completely in the now, in the moment trying to push the boundaries of what’s possible and what can be done.“
(Tom Robinson, BBC6 Music)

“Oddly infectious, the sheer alien nature of the sound is allied to a whimsical pop touch that truly gets under the skin.”
(Robin Murray – Clash Magazine)

“Like most of the great modern music, Austrian Stergin’s  compositions defy genre brackets, combining elements of electronics, blues, classical and rock music.  Stergin’s live set was easily the most fun performance of MENT 2017.”
(God Is In The TV)

JOURNEYS

In this new, very fresh project, multi-instrumentalist Stergin explores the sonic world of the clarinet, especially his bass clarinet, combined with the use of electronics and synthesiser.

The goal of each performance is that the audience is totally immersed in a minimal world, ethereal, ambient, decelerating live experience.

Each concert also features a different backdrop of special video footage tailored to the specific occasion. That can be a slow walkthrough the Icelandic wilderness to the insight of an anthill in slow motion.

Currently he is working with drummer Adam Betts (“One of the most exciting drummers in the UK” – The Independent) to further develop the live set.

First performances are planned in spring/summer of 2023 (tbc).

Furthermore Stergin is also exploring classical compositions and turning them into multi-arts installation pieces via different media (see 2 videos below).

Here are 2 other recent pieces turn into videos. Music written by Christof Dienz and performed by Stergin:
